Yummy Eat: Afternoon Dinner at Satay Bros

A couple of weekends ago, I had the yummiest late afternoon dinner at Satay Brothers with friends. What a way to satisfy the tummy with something yummy after a yucky winter!

Alex at Satay Brothers ordered for us as we were quite a group (and we couldn't decide because we were starving and everything smelled so good!).

The food was fresh and light, tasty and unique. There is something refreshingly home-cooked about the food.

My favourite were these buns... To die for!!!

Cash only! So make sure you stop somewhere before to get cash. Their winter location on Saint-Jacques is situated away from the main business street. The closest bank is probably National Bank on Notre-Dame W. (about a 5 min walk, so calculate a 15 min total "transaction time").

In summer, Satay Brothers have a tent at Atwater market. Look for the white tent on the Northern side of the market--their kiosk is the one exuding amazing smells and with the lineup.

Home Renos: Kitchens...

We got the keys to our house three weeks ago, but have been working hard on re-modelling the kitchen.

Old kitchen = Functional, but tight, dingy and dirty.
New kitchen = White kitchen, classic, open, chic!

Very excited, and inspired from white kitchen all over the web. Beautiful vents. Eye-catching island counter top. Mosaic backsplash. Keeping all this in mind!

Life Inspiration: Try something new for 30 days

When I look to inspiration, sometimes I take a look at the videos at TED. TED is a great place to just get a "pep" talk from total strangers. At the same time, it's a great resources to learn about something new.
I found this one about trying something new for 30 days. I think I will give it a try!

Happy Medicine: Friends, Picnic, Sunset, Park

I've been working a lot of overtime lately (day, evening, night). Tomorrow is Sunday and I will have to go in. Thus, needed to make the most of my Saturday! In the morning, I pampered myself with a haircut given by a friend, and then, stopped by Santropol at St-Urbain and Duluth, picked up a sandwich-to-go and made it up to Beaver Lake on the Mount-Royal to enjoy it as a picnic, just as the sun was starting to set. Also, tried to fly a kite, but there just wasn't enough wind! I made do by running around with the kite behind me to try to pick up wind. Who knew that flying a kite could also be such a workout? I had fun nonetheless!
