Home Renos: Kitchens...

We got the keys to our house three weeks ago, but have been working hard on re-modelling the kitchen.

Old kitchen = Functional, but tight, dingy and dirty.
New kitchen = White kitchen, classic, open, chic!

Very excited, and inspired from white kitchen all over the web. Beautiful vents. Eye-catching island counter top. Mosaic backsplash. Keeping all this in mind!

(I heart porcelain sinks!)

Deco inspiration: Teal, grey and maybe some pink!

Now with the keys to my new house, I am excited to be picking colours to paint my place in! Looking through magazines and colour swabs, I am really loving teal, grey and dark pink. Here are some inspiration pics:

Trying something new: Blogging Every Day!

I'm not sure this effort will actually last. I just can't sleep.

I got the keys to my new house. I went looking for paint colours with my friend Jo today. I am loving grey and teal!

Life Inspiration: Try something new for 30 days

When I look to inspiration, sometimes I take a look at the videos at TED. TED is a great place to just get a "pep" talk from total strangers. At the same time, it's a great resources to learn about something new.
I found this one about trying something new for 30 days. I think I will give it a try!

Happy Medicine: Friends, Picnic, Sunset, Park

I've been working a lot of overtime lately (day, evening, night). Tomorrow is Sunday and I will have to go in. Thus, needed to make the most of my Saturday! In the morning, I pampered myself with a haircut given by a friend, and then, stopped by Santropol at St-Urbain and Duluth, picked up a sandwich-to-go and made it up to Beaver Lake on the Mount-Royal to enjoy it as a picnic, just as the sun was starting to set. Also, tried to fly a kite, but there just wasn't enough wind! I made do by running around with the kite behind me to try to pick up wind. Who knew that flying a kite could also be such a workout? I had fun nonetheless!

...let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic...

My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.
All my very best,
Jack Layton

RIP Jack. You will be missed.

Guilty Happy Habits: MYguiltyHABIT

Love the new MYHABIT site from Amazon! It is my guilty pleasure everyday to check out the new outfits and items on sale! I love watching the videos of the models too--it is always nice to look at beautiful people wear beautiful clothes!

Today it's Velvet by Graham and Spencer... LOVE IT!

Things to get through a long day at work

The weather at work has been a bit gloomy these days and we've been working long hours to meet a big deadline.

Things that get me through a long day at work:

Laughter (sometimes just to myself):

Spoonful of Happy Medicine: Friendships!

True friendships are hard to find. True friends know you and remind you who you are when you get a little lost in this crazy world.

I love you girls!

Fave Sites: Belle Maison

Planning the renovations and redecorating that will be going into my house. I'm getting the keys in September (so excited!!!). One of my favourite sites to get ideas from is BelleMaison23.

It's updated almost everyday (sometimes 2 posts a day which is really gets me excited). Hopefully my new home will one day be a "belle maison"!

Crazy year ahead!

I am just realising that this is going to be a crazy year of changes!

I'm getting married in a year (almost exactly to the day!), bought a house (selling my condo and moving back in with my parents for a few months), finishing up my MBA... Looking forward to this new year!

Wedding Planning!

I am getting married next year and am in the midst of wedding planning!

My fiancĂ© and I are having a hard time deciding on a location to hold the reception! We can't decide if we want to go the traditional route by having the wedding at a hotel or having it at a modern location (an abandoned warehouse) with a caterer and bringing in our own things. The first option implies little planning -- the second implies LOTS of planning! It's been taking us months to decide (we got engaged in November and were planning a May 2012 wedding...).

Anyway, I am obsessed with wedding blogs these days. My favorite is Wedding Chicks!

Currently, I am obsessed with birdies and birdcages!
